School of Journalism & Mass Communication
Within the field of communication today, employers are expecting entry-level employees to have a vast knowledge base and varied skill sets. In the past, these skills were very specific to the different majors within our program. For example, only broadcasting & electronic majors had to have a good working knowledge of video equipment and editing. However, today, those same skill sets are now expected of professionals in such communication fields, such as public relations and multimedia
journalism as well.
With the continued merging of these skills, our Multimedia Communication major features a set of core courses paired with specialization courses that perfectly address these cross-over skills.
Offering students the ability to not only gain invaluable hands-on skills but the ability to cater to their specific career interest within the field of commiunication.
